TW is a large-format woven acoustically transparent fixed-frame screen designed for dedicated home theaters. This page features the FP wide black velvet frame—the same frame design used in Shane Lee’s custom 170-inch theater.
The woven surface allows the center channel and front speakers to sit behind the picture, so dialogue and sound effects come naturally from the image. Standard and custom sizes are available, allowing the screen to be built around your wall, viewing distance, and projector.

Shane’s configuration
Shane observed a modest brightness and sharpness difference compared with his smaller premium screen. After using TW for one to two weeks, he found that difference minimal during normal viewing, while the larger 170-inch image delivered a much greater increase in immersion.
His goal was to show that a large, custom, acoustically transparent home theater screen does not require spending $7,000 or more on the screen alone. TW allowed him to put more of his budget into the experience he could actually see and feel.
Why He Considered TW
Before the 170-inch installation, Shane placed TW beside several premium and mid-range screen materials in an informal, real-room comparison using the XGIMI TITAN Noir Max.
In that comparison, TW appeared very close in brightness to the premium reference materials, with only small differences in sharpness and contrast. Shane also reported no visible speckle on TW in his setup and considered it a strong winner for its price level.
The comparison explains why TW entered his shortlist. The completed 170-inch theater shows why it became his final choice: not because it won every individual specification, but because it delivered the right balance of image quality, acoustic transparency, custom size, and cost.

RGB Triple-Laser Compatibility
TW preserves more brightness and a cleaner, more open image than darker grey woven materials such as 3W. This makes it a strong acoustic-transparent option for large screens and modern bright RGB triple-laser projectors.
Its fine woven structure can also help reduce visible laser speckle compared with many smooth white screens and painted walls.
Speckle cannot be completely eliminated, and results vary depending on the projector, viewing distance, content, and individual sensitivity.
TW vs 3W vs 3C

Choose TW when your speakers will sit behind the screen and you want to preserve more brightness, image openness, and large-screen impact.
Choose 3W
Choose 3W when your speakers must remain behind the screen and you prefer deeper black levels and a more controlled image in a dark theater.
Choose 3C
3C is not acoustically transparent. Choose it when stronger speckle control and perceived contrast are more important than placing speakers behind the image.
